My mom who is 56 just married a wonderful man named Jonas who she met on a dating site. Yes its true and for online dating site skeptics like myself I now have seen the true potential that they have. I never would have dreamt in my wildest dreams that my divorced mom would find love on the internet at the age of 56! Not only that, the man she married is so wonderful and sweet that none of us could have picked a more perfect person for her if we had tried. When we first found out that she had joined the dating site we didn't embrace it with as much faith as she did, I think we were worried that she was going to get hurt. Of course though she is a grown up and we could not stop her so all we could do was support her and wait to see what the outcome would be.

It only took 4 short and very fun months for her to get matched up with Jonas. Before that she had gone out on quite a few dates and she was really having a fun time but she said the day that she opened the door to find Jonas on the front step she knew that she was done for, she knew that this time she truly had met the man that she was meant to spend the rest of her life with. Once we met him in person over dinner at her house we knew that she was right. Jonas somehow completes her and itdidn'ttake long for us to see how much love he had for her and how she was his top priority. She found in him exactly the kind of relationship that all of us look for it stillsurprisesus when we remember that they met on a dating site.

It almost makes me a touch jealous to see how much my mom loves him too. I know she still loves us and we are after all adults but still I guess it's always gonna hurt a bit to see your parents move on. Other than though we could not be happier and some of us kids are now thinking of joining the same dating site that they met on. Maybe lightning will strike twice for us and we can get another perfect match from the site, now that would be a real treat.
